Just a few words about me.
I grew up near southwest Michigan’s beautiful Great Lakes’ shoreline. During my high school and college education there, I was fortunate enough to travel and study abroad in Latin America, Europe and Africa. After earning my bachelor’s degree, I relocated to Beirut, Lebanon—where I lived for five years and began my career as a journalist. I also earned a master’s degree at the American University of Beirut. Following my time in the Middle East, I spent a year and a half traveling the world as I worked as a freelance writer and journalist. Since May 2018, I have worked full-time for Newsweek. Initially I covered foreign news stories and international affairs, but since 2020 I have largely focused on national politics. During my time at Newsweek I’ve interviewed a range of academics, economists, lawmakers and presidential candidates—among many others.
